Privacy Policy

Watashi Colorizer is an AI manga and webtoon colorization tool operated by Watashi Games. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can delete it. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
We collect only what the service needs to work:
- Account details: your email address, a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form), an optional display name, and an optional avatar image.
- Google sign-in (optional): if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google email address, name, and a Google account identifier.
- Content you create: the black-and-white pages you upload, the colorized results, your character palettes, and project names. If you use the uncensored model, this includes the mature content you upload.
- Payment records: when you buy credits, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details. We never see or store your card number — only a record that a purchase happened, its amount, and a reference id.
- Your own API key (optional): if you use Bring-Your-Own-Key, we store your Google Gemini API key encrypted (AES-256) so we can make colorization requests on your behalf. You can remove it at any time.
- Anti-abuse signals: at sign-up we record your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and a device fingerprint. These limit how many free-credit accounts can be created from one device or network.
- Marketing consent: only if you opt in, we record that you agreed to receive product emails.
How we use it
We use your data to run the service, process payments, prevent fraud and free-credit abuse, send you account and transactional emails, send marketing emails only if you opted in, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal data.
How your images are processed
Standard (SFW) colorization sends your images to Google's Gemini API for processing, subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices.
Uncensored (mature) colorization runs on our own servers and is not sent to Google or any other AI provider.
Your uploaded and colorized images are stored in cloud object storage so you can access them in your projects.
Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google — the Gemini API for standard colorization, and Google Sign-In if you use it.
- Cloud hosting and storage providers — to run the application and store your images.
- Reddit (advertising measurement): where enabled, we may send Reddit a one-way hashed (irreversible) version of your email address and your IP address so we can measure the effectiveness of our ads. This cannot be reversed by us or Reddit to read your email.
Cookies and local storage
We use a secure, httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in, and a small flag in your browser's local storage to remember that you are signed in. We do not place third-party advertising cookies on the site.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. Deletion is permanent and immediate: it removes your projects, colorized images, palettes, saved settings, remaining credits, and personal account details. Remaining credits are not refundable.
One exception, for abuse prevention: after deletion we retain a one-way, anonymized signal — a cryptographic hash of your device fingerprint, IP address, and normalized email, plus a count of any free uncensored runs used. These hashes cannot be reversed to identify you, contain no readable email or IP, and are used only to keep the per-device sign-up and free-trial limits working. They are not used for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.
Copies of data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
Your choices and rights
You can access and update your account details in-app, withdraw marketing consent at any time, remove your stored API key, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or export your data — contact [email protected] and we will help.
Security
We protect data in transit with encryption, store passwords only as salted hashes, and encrypt stored API keys with AES-256. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
Age
This service is intended for adults. Because it can process mature content, you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use it. It is not directed to children.
International processing
We and our service providers may process and store your data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data, we rely on the providers' safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will revise the date at the top and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice.
